From cassette tapes to Wu-Tang stages, a true independent artist and producer
Gabriel Torres, known professionally as G.E.T. Tha Chef (also recognized as Tha Chef Beatz), is a Native American hip hop artist and producer from Riverside, California. His passion for music began at the age of 14, when he started rapping over cassette instrumentals using a simple karaoke machine. By 17, he was producing his own beats and co-founded the group 909 Rydaz, which later transitioned into 951 Familia and eventually New Style Click.
In 2008, the group began gaining momentum in the live music scene and earned the opportunity to open for Wu-Tang’s West Coast Killa Beez—a pivotal early milestone in his career. Following the group’s disbandment, G.E.T. Tha Chef focused on refining his production craft, selling beats, and expanding his network as an independent creative force.
Today, he continues to push his artistry forward as co-founder of Blue Clef Music, alongside longtime collaborator Konklusion. Through this platform, G.E.T. Tha Chef has solidified his role as both a versatile producer and an artist committed to shaping the next wave of independent hip hop.
From his Riverside beginnings to building his own imprint, G.E.T. Tha Chef represents resilience, innovation, and the relentless drive of an artist dedicated to the culture.
